My Dad and I don't often see eye to eye. He's logical, I'm creative. If I ask him to choose between two anything, I go with the one he didn't choose. But he's still my Dad, and I'm still his little girl(despite being a 27 year old woman). When I was younger, Mom and I would go shopping for tools, shirts, and ties for his Father Day gifts. Over two decades of the same routine eventually resulted in Dad having all the tools, shirts, and ties he could ever need - despite what Canadian Tire tells you.
Then, he got a position in one of those modern companies with an office dog, a ping-pong table, and a beer keg - he never wears a tie now. So that year when Father's Day came around, I went rogue. I abandoned the typical 'Dad' gifts and made him a mix CD for his hour-long drive to his new, hip office. Fergalicious and Bootylicious blared from his car and I was finally an age where I'm no longer embarrassed and can embrace the ridiculous Dad behaviour that I've grown to love and can't image life without.
You’ve heard the term “let’s get this bread” but what about the loafs?
More specifically, loafers. And lots of them. This sock-less, lace-less shoe trend has taken over men’s closets. Can we blame them? Few things are more freeing than bare ankles and slip-ons, no matter the occasion.
It’s a staple of every snappy dresser to have at least one pair of quality loafers to slide on and complete a look. But where to start? With so many options available(and there are a lot), it’s hard to decide exactly which style of loafer fits your lifestyle. Keep reading for tips on how to wear loafers like a boss.
Men's fashion has officially surpassed women's in industry growth and is showing no signs of slowing. Shocked?
We're not. Clothing serves a function beyond style and as the world evolves, clothes do, too. Men are increasingly caring for their appearance and so labels are adapting and innovating to mesh comfort and function with fashion and style. Athleisure wear is one trend resulting from this innovation, but it's not the only one. Premium brands are taking men's dress needs seriously by using high-quality material blends, unique stitching patterns, and patented fabric technology(yes, 'good' clothes do involve technological innovation - that's why Curt Collins himself hand picks each item we carry.)
We narrowed down the top three menswear trends across generations that will see out 2019 and stay for 2020.
That classic black and white image envisioned when you hear the word ‘tuxedo’, is far from the only style; many now incorporate modern styles, trends, and colours. With tuxedos breaking away from tradition, it can be tough to tell the difference from a suit.
There are two key differences between a suit and tuxedo. The first has to do with physical appearance, the second has to do with the embodiment, the perception, that comes with a tuxedo. Check out the list below for a closer look - we've even included a chart for quick reference!
